14th Anniversary of DSMA
31 st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Thirteen years ago i.e., on 31 st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. It was blessed by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then General Manager of the SFS Group of Institutions.

To commemorate this occasion the whole DSMA family celebrated the 14th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA on 3 rd of August 2024 in Suvidya College Auditorium.

 All the students, friends, faculty members and well-wishers attended this event and thanked God for the gift of this institution. A cultural-musical event was organized that day.


Sangeethotsava – 2024
In the month of April and May 2024 De Sales Music Academy organized 14 th Summer camp for music, dance, art and instruments under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2024. The camp was conducted in two batches from April 1 st to April 26 th (Batch 1) and April 29 th to May 24 th (Batch 2). Around 150 students took part in both batches.

On the concluding day of each batch a cultural program was organized in order to provide an opportunity for all the students to exhibit their talents to their parents and friends. Rev. Dr. Santhosh Kumar, The Director of DSMA gave away the certificates of merit and participation to all the students of the camp. The program was well attended by many parents, relatives, friends and well-wishers of DSMA.


Musical Fiesta - 2023 - 24
16 th December 2023 was a memorable day for the DSMA family, as DSMA organized it's 13 th annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2023-2024. Rev.Fr.Binu Edathumparambil,Principal of SFS Degree College was the Chief Guest for the event. He was immensely impressed by the outstanding performances of the students of DSMA as well as the phenomenal growth of the music academy in such a short span of time. The programme was well-attended by the parents and the well-wishers of our DSMA students.


Trinity Exams 2023 at DSMA
DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 6 th November to 9 th November 2023. 80 students of DSMA appeared for their exams at our center. The examiners Ms. Anne Macdonald from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.


13th Anniversary of DSMA

Dr. Philip Thomas, MSFS, the Rector of Suvidya College was the Chief Guest for the event. He was immensely impressed by the outstanding performances of the students of DSMA as well as the phenomenal growth of the music academy in such a short span of time. The programme was well-attended by the parents and the well-wishers of our DSMA students.


Trinity Exams November - 2022 at DSMA
After two years of COVID pandemic, De Sales Music Academy conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises. Exams were held successfully from 9th of November to 11th of November 2022. 60 students of DSMA appeared for their exams at our center. The examiners Mr. Garry Wilkinson from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.


12th Anniversary of DSMA
31st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Twelve years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then Provincial Superior of the (SWIP-MSFS) blessed the Music Academy.

On 30th July 2022, on the occasion of Inauguration and blessing of De Sales Language Academy to double our joy we jointly celebrated twelfth anniversary of De Sales Music Academy in the quadrangle of SFS High school. The dignitaries who graced the celebration are:

11th Anniversary of DSMA
31st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Eleven years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. It was blessed by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then General Manager of the SFS Group of Institutions. To commemorate this occasion the whole DSMA family celebrated the 11th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA on 31st of July 2021 in SFS Degree College Auditorium. The whole event was telecast live on our Facebook social media page.

All the students, friends, faculty members and well-wishers attended this event digitally and thanked God for the gift of this institution. A short cultural-musical event was organized that day.


Sangeethotsava - 2021
Past 13 years DSMA has been organizing SANGEETHOTSAVA - Residential/Non-residential Summer Camp for students all over India. Due to Corona pandemic, we could not organize it in 2020. However, this time we have organized VIRTUAL SUMMER COURSES - 2021 for the benefit of various students across India and abroad

From 24th of May to 11th of June De Sales Music Academy organized Virtual Summer camp for music, dance and instruments under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2021. 25 students from different states took part in the camp from their residences itself. At the end of the camp we have collected a small performance video from each student and we will be uploading the same in our social media shortly...

Musical Fiesta - 2019 - 20
14th December 2019 was a memorable day for the DSMA family, as DSMA organized i's 10th annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2019-2020. Rev. Fr. Sabu Francis, MSFS, the Rector of Suvidya College was the Chief Guest for the event. Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, MSFS, the Principal of SFS Public School(ICSE) was the President of the programme. Both of them shared their pearls of wisdom briefly. The programme was well-attended by the parents and the well-wishers of our DSMA students. Elaborate arrangements were also made for the performing students to view the programme live.

Apart from the performances of the DSMA students there was also a spectacular Teacher's performance.


Trinity Exams November - 2019 at DSMA
DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the Eighth time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 11th of November to 25th of November 2019. 90 students of DSMA and another 200 students from other institutes and schools in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiners Mr. Ralph McDonald from Scotland and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.


Bharatnatyam Dance Exam at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized Bharatnatyam dance examination on 6 th of September 2019. The examination was conducted by Nrityakalamandiram, a renowned dance academy for classical dance in Bangalore. Forty students of DSMA appeared for their exam. The examiner, Ms. Ananya from Nrityakalamandiram was pleased about the performance of the children and the excellent infrastructure at DSMA. All the students would receive a certificate of performance.


9th Anniversary of DSMA

Most of the DSMA students and faculty members performed dance and music on this occasion and the students of Art & craft exhibited their artistic skills.


Trinity Exams June - 2019 at DSMA
In order to provide frequent opportunities for students who are ready and willing to appear for Trinity exam, we have initiated the practical exam even in June/July apart from October/November session. Accordingly, DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the Seventh time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 17 th of June 20 th of June 2019. 60 students of DSMA and another 50 students from other institutes and schools in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiners Mr. Raymond Bidwell from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.


Sangeethotsava - 2019
From 25th of April to 22nd of May De Sales Music Academy organized Summer camp for music, dance and instruments under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2019. A hundred students from different states and Dioceses took part in the camp in which both residential as well as non-residential courses were offered. On the concluding day a cultural program was organized in order to provide an opportunity for all the camp students to exhibit their talents to their parents and friends. Rev. Dr. Binu Edathuparambil, The member of MSFS Congregation and belongs to the Southwest India Province was the Chief Guest for the event and gave away the certificates of merit and participation to all the students of the camp. DSMA is very grateful to Suvidya community for making the M.Ph block as well as other facilities such as Auditorium, Chapel, Refectory and playground available for the use of the residential camp students. The program was well attended by some MSFS Fathers, Sisters, parents, friends and well-wishers of camp children and those of DSMA.

15th of December 2018 was a memorable day for the DSMA family, as DSMA organized it's 9th annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2018-'19. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Conrad, MSFS was the Chief Guest for the event. Rev. Fr. Joy Vazhappillil, MSFS was the president of the programme. Both of them shared their pearls of wisdom briefly. The programme was well-attended by the parents and the well-wishers of our DSMA students. Elaborate arrangements were also made for the performing students to view the programme live.

Apart from the performances of the DSMA students and teachers, a spectacular Kathak Dance performance was put up by a professional Dance troupe from Niranthara School Of Dance.


Trinity Exams 2018 at DSMA
DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the Sixth time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 19 th November to 29 th November 2018. 120 students of DSMA and another 200 students from other institutes and schools in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiners Mr. Stewart Wallace and Mr. Sebastian Poznansky from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.


Bharatnatyam Dance Exam at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized Bharatnatyam dance examination on 28th of August 2018. The examination was conducted by Nrityakalamandiram, a renowned dance academy for classical dance in Bangalore. Thirty five students of DSMA appeared for their exam. The examiner from Nrityakalamandiram was pleased about the performance of the children and the excellent infrastructure at DSMA. All the students would receive a certificate of performance.


8th Anniversary of DSMA
31st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Eight years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. It was blessed by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then General Manager of the SFS Group of Institutions. To commemorate this occasion the whole DSMA family celebrated the 8th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA on 31st of July 2018 in SFS Degree College Auditorium. All the students, friends, faculty members and well-wishers attended this event and thanked God for the gift of this institution. A short cultural-musical event was organized that day. Mr. Felix Joseph, a well-known and professional music maestro was the chief guest for the event and he performed a few popular Piano pieces. Most of the DSMA students and faculty members performed dance and music on this occasion and the students of Art & craft exhibited their artistic skills. All the DSMA students and parents have given a piece of cake each as a token of gratitude for their association with DSMA.

Sangeethotsava - 2018
From 23rd of April to 19th of May De Sales Music Academy organized summer camp for music, dance, instruments, art and crafts under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2018. A hundred students from different states and Dioceses took part in the camp in which both residential as well as non-residential courses were offered. On the concluding day a cultural program was organized in order to provide an opportunity for all the camp students to exhibit their talents to their parents and friends. Rev. Fr. James, Dean of Suvidya college presided over the program and gave away the certificates of merit and participation to all the students of the camp. DSMA is very grateful to Suvidya community for making the M.Ph block as well as other facilities such as Auditorium, Chapel, Refectory and playground available for the use of the residential camp students. The program was well attended by some MSFS Fathers, Sisters, parents, friends and well-wishers of camp children and those of DSMA.

Special Music Workshop
DSMA organized a special music workshop on May 15th 2018. The music maestro Sri Dilip Mukherjee, attached with Rabindra Bharati University conducted the workshop. Around 80 students and parents attended the workshop. It was a wonderful privilege for the students of DSMA to get to know the expertise of Sri Dilip Mukherjee and profit from his vast practical and theoretical knowledge.



Musical Fiesta - 2017 -'18
20th of January 2018 was a memorable day for the DSMA family, as DSMA organized it's 8th annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2017-'18. Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam MSFS, the former Provincial of South-West India province of the MSFS was the Chief Guest for the event and it was our pleasure to have him for our Musial Fiesta 2017-18.



Trinity Exams 2017 at DSMA
DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the fifth time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from November 28th to December 8th 2017. Hundred students of DSMA and another two hundred students from other institutes and schools in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiner Mr. Peter Wells from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.



Vocal / Tabla / Painting Exam at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized Vocal / Tabla / Painting / Instrumental examination on July 1st 2017. The examination was conducted by Bangiyo Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata. Eighty students of DSMA appeared for their exams. The examiners from Bangiyo Sangeet Parishad were very happy about the performance of the children, the excellent infrastructure and the arrangements at De Sales Music Academy.



Bharatnatyam Dance Exam at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized Bharatnatyam dance examination on June 29th 2017. The examination was conducted by Nrityakalamandiram, A renowned Dance academy in Bangalore. Twenty five students of DSMA appeared for their exams. The examiner from Nrityakalamandiram was very happy about the performance of the children and the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.



Dance Workshop at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized a special dance workshop on February 16, 2017. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Preethi Bharadwaj, a well-known Bharatnatyam dancer from "Nrityakala Mandiram". Around hundred students of DSMA participated in the workshop. At the end of the workshop Ms. Preethi Bharadwaj herself performed in the presence of all the students and their parents. All the students and their parents appreciated the workshop very well and happily declared that they profited a lot from this workshop.



Musical Fiesta - 2016 -'17:
18th December 2016 was memorable day for the DSMA family, as DSMA organized it's 7th annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2016-'17. Rev. Dr. Benny Koottanal MSFS, the Provincial Superior of South West India Province, was the Chief Guest for the event. He is the President of all the SFS Group of Institutions in Karnataka and Kerala in India, Philippines and Chad-Cameroon outside India. He is a multifaceted personality and it was our pleasure to have him for our Musial Fiesta 2016-17.

Apart from the performances of the DSMA students and teachers, a spectacular dance performance by a professional dance troupe from Shambhavi School of Dance, founded by Vyjayanthi Kashi who is a well known dancer around the world. Besides we had a tuneful and harmonious rendition of Indian Instrumental fusion music by a professional troupe led by Sangeet Ratna Sri Prabir Bhattacharya, one of the torchbearers of the new generation of Sitarists. He is a graded artist with Bangalore AIR.

DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the fourth time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 18th to 26th November 2016. Sixty students of DSMA and another hundred and twenty students from other institutes in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiner Ms. Gillian Poznansky from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.



Celebrating the 6th anniversary of Inauguration of DSMA
31st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Six years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well known singer and actor in Sandalwood film industry. It was blessed by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then General Manager of the SFS Group of Institutions. To commemorate this occasion the whole DSMA family celebrated the 6th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA on 26th of August, 2016 in SFS Degree College Auditorium. All the students, friends, faculty members and well-wishers attended this event and thanked God for the gift of this institution. A short cultural-musical event was organized that day. Rev. Dr. Herold Christopher, the Principal of SFS Degree College was the chief guest for the event. Most of the DSMA students and faculty members performed dance and music on this occasion. After the program all the DSMA staff members were served dinner as a token of gratitude for their service in the music academy.



Sangeethotsava - 2016
From 4th of April to 23rd of April De Sales Music Academy organized summer camp for music, instruments, art and crafts under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2016. A hundred students from different states and Dioceses took part in the camp in which both residential as well as non-residential courses were offered. On the concluding day a cultural program was organized in order to provide an opportunity for all the camp students to exhibit their talents to their parents and friends. Rev. Fr. Johnson, Principal of SFS Public School (ICSE) presided over the program and gave away the certificates of merit and participation to all the students of the camp. DSMA is very grateful to Suvidya community for making the M.Ph block as well as other facilities such as Auditorium, Chapel, Refectory and playground available for the use of the residential camp students. The program was well attended by some MSFS Fathers, parents, friends and well-wishers of camp children and those of DSMA.



Musical Fiesta - 2015 - '16:
De Sales Music Academy organized the annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2015-'16, on 14th February 2016. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Conrad, was the Chief-Guest for the colorful and musical evening. He is the Parish Priest of St.Francis De Sales Church, Hebbagodi and the Manger of S.F.S. Public School (ICSE), S.F.S. English Medium School, S.F.S. Academy (CBSE) and S.F.S. P.U. College. He was immensely impressed by the outstanding performances of the students of DSMA as well as the phenomenal growth of the music academy in such a short span of time. Apart from the performances of the DSMA students and teachers, a spectacular Bharatnatyam & Kathak dance performance by a professional dance troupe and a tuneful and harmonious rendition of Instrumental band music by a professional troupe formally known as Infusion, soaked the audience completely.



Trinity Exams at DSMA
DSMA conducted Trinity exams at DSMA premises consecutively for the third time since 2013. Exams were held successfully from 23rd to 27th November 2015. Sixty students of DSMA and another hundred students from other institutes in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiner Ms. Tessa Donaldson from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.




Dance Workshop at DSMA
De Sales Music Academy organized a special dance workshop on September 7th 2015. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Amita Mathur, a well-known Kathak dancer. Forty students of DSMA participated in the workshop. At the end of the workshop Mrs. Amita herself performed in the presence of all the students and their parents. The Director of DSMA, Rev. Dr. Santhosh distributed certificates of participation to all the students.

All the students appreciated the workshop very well and declared happily that they profited a lot from this workshop.




5th Anniversary of DSMA
31st of July marked an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Five years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the President of the S.F.S Group of Institutions blessed the newly built De Sales Music Academy and invoked God's blessings upon the same.

On 31st of July 2015 the whole DSMA family celebrated the 5th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA. A short cultural - musical evening was organized. Around 100 students of DSMA performed and approximately 300 parents/well-wishers/friends attended the event. After the program all the DSMA staff members were given a light dinner as token of gratitude for their service in the music academy.

The Director and the staff of DSMA would like to thank all those who are part of DSMA for making this institution what it is today.





Sangeethotsava - 2015

From 20th of April to 17th of May De Sales Music Academy organized summer camp for music, dance, art and crafts under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2015. A hundred students from different states and dioceses took part in the camp in which both residential as well as non-residential courses were offered. To mark the conclusion of the summer camp a cultural program was organized in order to provide an opportunity for all the camp students to exhibit their talents to the public. Rev. Dr. Joy Mampally, the Rector of Suvidya College, presided over the program and gave away the certificates of merit and participation to all the students of the camp. DSMA is very grateful to Suvidya community for making the M.Ph block as well as other facilities such as auditorium and chapel available for the use of residential camp students. The program was well attended by some MSFS Fathers, parents, friends and well-wishers of camp children and DSMA.



Group Discussion Event

De Sales Music Academy organized a special group discussion on March 12th 2015 with all the senior vocal students of DSMA. Around 30 students participated in that event. They all discussed and shared their knowledge about music. It was good to note that the students were able to highlight the main differences between Indian classical music and Western classical music. The teachers of respective expertise were successful in enabling the students to discuss openly and exchange their views mutually.




Musical Fiesta - 2014 - 15

De Sales Music Academy organized the annual music and dance fest under the banner of Musical Fiesta - 2014 - 15. Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a leading playback singer and actor in Kannada film industry (Sandalwood), was the Chief-guest of the program. In his address Mr. Rajesh Krishnan exhorted all the students and lovers of performing arts to pursue any form of art with passion, dedication and hard work. He was immensely impressed by the outstanding performances of the students of DSMA as well as the phenomenal growth of the music academy in such a short span of time. He also charted out a plan of collaborating with DSMA in the future for the benefit of those who wish to pursue music as a profession. As the icing on the cake, he enthralled the audience with his melodious songs from his upcoming movie in which he has done a leading role. Apart from the performance of the DSMA students, a spectacular Kathak dance performance by a professional artist and a tuneful and harmonious rendition of brass band music by the 'Corps of Military Police Band' soaked the audience completely.

It was the second time that DSMA conducted Trinity exam at DSMA premises. Exams were held successfully from 24th to 28th November 2014. Fifty students of DSMA and another hundred and fifty students from other institutes in Bangalore appeared for their exams at our center. The examiner Mr. James Smith from UK and all those who appeared for their exams were very happy about the efficient organization of exams and also about the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.




Classical Dance Exam at DSMA

De Sales Music Academy organized Bharatnatyam dance examination on November 18th 2014. The examination was conducted by Nrityakalamandiram, Bangalore. 20 students of DSMA appeared for their exams. The Examiner from Nrityakalamandiram was very happy about the performance of the children and the excellent infrastructure at DSMA.




Friends of DSMA from Austria

5th of August was a very joyous day for all at DSMA. Dr. Rudolf Greiner and Mrs. Gerti Greiner from Austria who are professional musicians, friends and well-wishers of DSMA visited the music academy and had an interactive session with some of the parents and students of DSMA. Dr. Santhosh, the Director of DSMA introduced the guests to a group of parents and students who were numbering well above a hundred in the central hall of DSMA. Dr. Greiner is the Saxophone teacher for Dr. Santhosh whenever the latter visits Austria.

Dr. Santhosh formally invited the guests at DSMA and thanked them for their contribution for the infrastructure at DSMA and also for spending a lot of time in imparting the knowledge of music, especially that of Saxophone. Dr. Rudolf shared some information with regard to the importance and the spread of the culture of music in Austria. He exhorted the parents to encourage their children to learn music systematically and the children to take up music with genuine enthusiasm and rigorous practice. Dr. Rudolf also spent a lot of time with some of the Saxophone students and Mrs. Gerti was fully engaged with some students to teach them the techniques of western vocal singing. 4th Anniversary of DSMA

31st of July marks an important event in the life of De Sales Music Academy (DSMA). Four years ago i.e., on 31st of July 2010 De Sales Music Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film industry. Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then Provincial Superior of the South-West India Province of the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales (MSFS) blessed the newly built De Sales Music Academy and invoked God?s blessings upon the same. On 31st of July 2014 the whole DSMA family will be celebrating the 4th anniversary of the inauguration of DSMA. We request all the students, friends, faculty members and well-wishers to remember this event and thank God for the gift of this institution. We also request you to offer a small prayer for the growth and well-being of DSMA.



Sangeethotsava - 2014

De Sales Music Academy organized summer camp for music and dance under the banner of SANGEETHOTSAVA - 2014 from 28th of April to 24th May. It was both a residential and non-residential camp. This year 85 students, both children and grownups, from different states of our country, such as Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka participated in the camp. To mark the conclusion of the camp a cultural program was organized in order to offer an opportunity for the students to exhibit all that they had learned. Rev. Dr. Jose Kumblolickal, Provincial South-West India Province who was the chief-guest of the concluding cultural program, gave away the certificates of participation and merit for all the camp students. The program was well attended by many parents, friends and well-wishers of camp children and DSMA students.

Special Music Seminar

DSMA organized a special music workshop on May 17th Saturday. The music maestro Sri Dilip Mukherjee, Professor at Rabindra Bharati University conducted the workshop. Around 80 students attended the workshop. It was a wonderful privilege for the students of DSMA to get to know the expertise of Sri Dilip Mukherjee and profit from his vast practical and theoretical knowledge.
